Brief

Located in Mansfield, Ohio, Richland Academy Of The Arts (RAA) is a dynamic arts education center offering classes in dance, music, visual arts, theatre, and martial arts. They aim to help individuals of all ages explore their creativity in a safe, professional, and family-friendly environment. Offerings range from group classes to one-on-one lessons, and their team of passionate instructors is committed to guiding every student’s creative journey.


The client requested a complete brand identity system, including a logo, visual direction, and comprehensive brand guidelines, that would represent the diversity of their programs and resonate with both children and adults. It was vital that the branding would be colorful, inspiring, and professional, reflecting their message: “Explore The Artist Within.”

My Role

I collaborated with my design team but led the design and development of the visual identity, delivering:

• A primary, secondary, and tertiary logo consisting of multiple color variations

• A vibrant, inclusive color palette and assigned a look for
each artistic discipline

• Typography suited for both playful and professional applications

• Illustrated distinct continuous-line icons reflecting
each program

• A comprehensive brand guideline outlining rules and standards, including marketing voice and strategy

• Designed graphics to be implemented on their newly branded website (richlandacademy.com) and social media platforms

• A cohesive brand system that could extend across digital and print platforms
